Tiong H. Ling and Nancy T. Ling (husband and wife) launched their acupuncture practice in Houston, Texas in February, 1982 at which time, there were only over a handful of acupuncturists in Houston. Since then, the clinic has seen countless patients from all over the United States, as well as international patients from 40 different countries.
Not only were they among the pioneer acupuncturists who opened this new medical treatment therapy in Houston, he also participated in taking legal action in Texas court which ultimately led to the legal status to practice acupuncture in the state of Texas in 1993.
Both are graduates of Vanderbilt University with Ph.D. degrees, and he, a PK. They went to China to learn acupuncture under the top national experts. Their acupuncture mentors include Shanghai’s top acupuncture experts, Dr. Sieng-Ming Huang( 黃羨明教授) and Beijing’s national expert, Dr. Li Chuang Huang(黃麗春醫師).
The “USA Map Story”
Some thirty years ago, we acquired a USA map not knowing what to do with it until one day, we put it up on an empty wall. Not too long after that, we saw a few pins being placed on it by patients who came to our clinic from out of state. This initiative ignited something totally unintended when we first put that map on the wall as we had no idea at all that this map would become a map of our achievements.
It took some 20 years before we had pins on every state in the USA. We need to attest that the great majority of those who have come from out of state were coming for quit smoking treatments which happens to be our expertise.
